During his Ted Talk about Depression, Andrew Solomon stated that, “The opposite of depression is not happiness, but vitality, and it was vitality that seemed to seep away from me in that moment.”
He revealed the devastating effects of depression in his own life. He went on to offer a lot of insight into depression. Not only that, he highlighted some of the misconceptions society has about the illness. And finally, he offered hope to those who are struggling with depression.
Andrew leaves us with a summary of his talk, “Forge meaning. Build identity. And then invite the world to share your joy.”
